One fan can make a difference

On July 17, 2006, I received an email from a very enthusiastic fan of the Invasion music. He had read the “About Us” section on the MovieScore Media web site and got the burst to write. He told me about the show's "superb production qualities" and singled out "the brilliant underscore by the relatively unknown Jason Derlatka and Joh Ehrlich." He continued: "The musical world that they created for the show was beyond incredible. It was always rich with beauty, sweetness, tension, or terror. And given that music plays an enormous role in how I react to movies and television, the incredible music they wrote was a huge factor in what kept me coming back to the show."

After such an enthusiastic review of the music, I simply had to check it out and sent Jon Ehrlich the email that got the ball rolling. A CD arrived a few weeks later, I got in touch with Warner Bros and we began working on the project. Now, over two years later, the Invasion album is finally out. Getting here was indeed a long journey, involving a lot of technicalities and bureaucracy, but had it not been for that first fan mail, the CD would probably not seen the day of light! Recently, the same guy who contacted me back then, in 2006, wrote back. "I really cannot thank you enough for your willingness to seriously consider my score suggestion. As I’m sure you are aware, certain music has the mysterious power to mark people in a special way, and the score to Invasion did just that for me. I just felt the need to let you know that my thankfulness for your release of the score is as equal as my thankfulness for the music itself. You’re doing a great thing with your film music label, giving certain scores the merit-based chance to be appreciated on CD. As a result, you’ve made this film music fan an incredibly happy guy."

One single film music fan can make a difference! Do you have any suggestions? Why don't you send us an email?
